Make Your Own Pumpkin Puree

This year why don't you forget the canned puree and make your own. It's really simple. Here's how:

  1. Heat your oven to 325 degrees
  2. Cut a pumpkin in half horizontally
  3. Scrape out the seeds
  4. Bake both halves, cut side down on a buttered baking sheet until tender - approx. 1 hour
  5. Cool
  6. Scrape pulp from the shells and then blend or process until smooth
