Pumpkin Tips

  • When cutting a lid, insert the knife at a slight angle toward the center of the pumpkin so the outside of the lid is larger than the inside.  This keeps it from falling onto the pumpkin.
  • Prolong the life of the cut-ot areas by applying a thin layer of petroleum jelly to the edges.
  • Don't cut the features on a jack-o-lantern too close together or too large.  The are may weaken and collaspe.
  • Rub pumpkin pie seasoning on the inside of your jack-o-lantern before lighting the candle.  Not only will it look pretty but you'll have the aroma of pumpkin pie filling the air as the candle warms the pumpkin.
